Whether you’re trying to exercise more simply to get fit, or whether your main motive is weight loss, it’s often the case that there’s always an excuse as to why you don’t spend enough time at the gym, going out for a run or at your dance classes. The treadmill is one of the most popular pieces of exercise equipment, as it has a lot of health benefits and actually dispels a lot of typical excuses for not exercising, meaning people are more likely to get fit quicker.

Excuse #1: it’s raining/snowing/windy
If you’re trying to motivate yourself to get out running regularly, there’s no better excuse than bad weather when you’re feeling a little lazy. Whilst bad weather often is a genuine excuse (it’s not safe to run in ice, for example), a little drizzle isn’t really cause for any concern. Nevertheless, it can be off-putting and detrimental to your motivation, so here is where the treadmill comes in. Having a treadmill you can use at home, or even at the local gym, will mean you can get fit whatever the weather.
Excuse #2: I’m not fit enough yet
If you have a lot of weight to lose or are especially unfit, then it’s easy to dismiss running as something you’re just not ready for yet. Whilst that may be true, you can still start off walking and build up to jogging. Using a treadmill will help you make the transition from walking to running, as you can slowly build up the speed and set yourself measureable targets. Walking around your local area is great, but with a treadmill you’ll feel much more motivated to meet your speed targets and will probably notice a difference in your level of fitness more quickly.
Excuse #3: I’m too busy
If you have time to sit down and watch your favourite TV show once a week, then you have time to run once a week; simple. By using a treadmill with an integrated TV, you can catch up on your favourite shows whilst exercising. Even if you only have access to treadmills without TVs, like the ones in gyms kitted out by Fitness Warehouse UK, most gyms will have televisions on the wall. Having a treadmill at home is even better if you’re strapped for time, as the time travelling to and from the gym is cut out.
