Supplements are all over the market and provide an extra boost to our health. We often use them because the food on the market isn’t all natural, often stripped of their health benefits and replaced with chemicals that don’t help our bodies. We also use them to help heal our bodies from minor illnesses and issues, either with traditional medicines or on their own. Knowing your supplement is important and today we want to share x supplements you should get to know before using.

Cannabidiol (CBD Oil)

CBD oil, for sale, is permeating the market and we can easily see why. To date, there are no adverse effects when using CBD oil for treatment. The positives are extensive:

  • Anti-tumor properties
  • Stops cervical cancer cells
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Anti-oxidant (stronger than Vitamins C & E)
  • Offers symptom relief for Multiple Sclerosis patients
  • Improves symptoms for schizophrenia patients
  • Helps with treatment-resistant epilepsy
  • Reduces anxiety
  • Relieves chronic pain
  • Eases nausea and increases appetite
  • Lowers incidence of diabetes
  • Could promote heart health
  • Functions as an anti-depressant for Depression patients
  • May ease Irritable Bowel Syndrome
  • May help people with insomnia

CBD oil can easily become the one supplement to help you if you are dealing with a myriad of symptoms and issues due to a chronic illness or condition.

Fish Oil

Fish oil has been used for centuries to help with all sorts of issues. People who eat a lot of fish typically have lower rates of heart disease. Not everyone enjoys eating fish and that is where fish oil can be a huge benefit. If you, or a loved one, is struggling with bipolar disorder or schizophrenia then fish oil should be used. Some mental disorders are a result of lower levels of omega-3 and by increasing it, you can even out your levels and help with your symptoms. For folks suffering from weight problems, which subsequently lead to other health issues, fish oil can help you lose inches or weight when combined with a healthy diet.

There are some side effects that people should be aware of. Minor issues include bad breath and belching. Uncomfortable effects include heartburn, nausea, loose stools, rash, and nosebleeds. If you are allergic to fish, it’s advisable not to take fish oil supplements.

Melatonin

One of the biggest problems so many of us face is not enough sleep. Melatonin supplements are often suggested as a way to assist with those sleep issues because it isn’t habit forming quite like over-the-counter products. It also tends to be more effective since it’s similar to the melatonin our own bodies create. Aside from insomnia, melatonin is great for dealing with jet lag and seasonal affective disorder (SAD). If you experience chronic cluster headaches, melatonin may also be helpful in the treatment of those symptoms.

There are some adverse effects like sleepiness and morning grogginess. Children and pregnant women should not take any melatonin without direction from a physician.  On occasion, people have indicated that they have incredibly vivid dreams when they have taken the supplement. Scientists are currently unable to explain why.

As with all supplements, they are not meant to replace treatments that you are currently using under the care of your doctor. Before starting a supplement, do talk with your doctor to be sure that a natural supplement will not interfere with what you are currently taking. It’s not uncommon for synthetic meds and natural treatments to counteract one another. In some cases, your supplement use can help heal to a point in which you can work your way off synthetic meds and more doctors are looking to natural healing.
