Human brain is a mystery; with extreme similarities and on the other hand, extreme dissimilarities between the two hemispheres. A
human brain is divided into 2 hemispheres; the right one and the left one. When we look at both the parts, we can suddenly notice the extreme similarity between both of them. On the contrary, when we look at the functions of both of them; those are entirely and wholly different from each other. These similarities and dissimilarities are topic of this article, today.
Similarities:
All the similarities that we can find between the right and the left hemispheres of our brains are anatomical. There isn’t any similarity between these two parts that isn’t anatomical.
When we look at a human brain, we can identify the identical symmetry of both hemispheres. They seem identical; they seem to be two identical brains joined together to form one greater brain; they are one and the same thing apparently. Both are connected to each other by a flat bundle of nerve fibres called Corpus Callosum. If this weak wall is cut, we can more clearly notice the indistinguishable looks which are in fact, difficult to tell apart from each other.
This is the only but huge similarity we can find in both the hemispheres. Rest is all related to dissimilarities.
Dissimilarities:
Right brain and left brain may look identical to each other, but they are completely different. First of all, you must know that our right side of the body is controlled by the left hemisphere of our brain, whereas the left body side is governed by the right brain. Strange, or better, Weird; isn’t it?
There is a theory about right and left brain that these two parts are responsible for two different kinds of thinking. Both of them think differently than each other, and both have their specific styles of thought processes.
Left Brain:
When we talk about logical, rational and analytical thinking, we are talking about the Left Brain. It is associated with verbal thinking. The things it knows and understands are those that can be categorized, named, and symbolized. Due to the rational way of thinking, the left brain’s thinking process is linear. It prioritizes things and lets them remain at their respective places. It is linked with logics, reasons and rationale.

Right Brain:
Right brain is its opposite. It is creative, it is abstract, it is perceptual, it is spatial, and it is complex. Right brain has nothing to do with reason, rationale, logic, and verbal thinking; it is entirely opposite to these things. It processes information very quickly in a nonlinear and non-sequential manner. It tends to look at the bigger picture and understand the complete scenario immediately. It deals with complexity and vagueness. Sometimes, it becomes difficult to interpret the thoughts of right brain into words due to the complex and non verbal nature thereof.

Now, you can see; the similarities are next to nothing in relation to the differences between both the hemispheres. Of you are a logical thinker; you are a left brain. On the other hand, if you are creative and aesthetical; you are a right brain.
