Arthur R. Euler, MD, a gastroenterologist conducted a survey among 250 consumers who visited Puroast’s website seeking a resolution to their gastrointestinal symptoms. Arthur headed the Clinical Development Unit of Glaxo’s Zantac, which is a drug prescribed frequently by primary care doctors to treat upper gastrointestinal symptoms. A large segment of them found relief from the gut symptoms caused by coffee. 95% liked the taste and expressed desire to buy ‘Puroast’ again.
Euler says,” These are extraordinarily high numbers for any product with its target consumer.”
However the company has decided not to keep itself confined to this study and its results only. Soon, ‘Puroast’ and Dr. Euler would be conducting another study in which they are planning to invite participation and get an input from those customers who would like to buy ‘Puroast’ for its taste only. These people might not have been facing any stomach problem due to coffee however would still prefer ‘Puroast’ to other brands of coffee due to its taste.
This would help the company to get a clear picture of its “crossover” status. This implies that they would be able to clearly understand the approach of customers who want to add ‘Puroast’ to their lives as they have some health issue, and those who are only like the taste.
The company says that these expanded studies would help them learn whether ‘Puroast’ can reach the same level of market penetration of other successful products such as diet sodas, light beer and low-fat yogurt.
