CDC also revealed that they will provide funding to all 50 state health departments and six local health departments and eight territories or US affiliates. The funds that they will provide will allow these labs and medical centers to hire 1000 full time and part time positions in the state, locally, and even for tribal health departments. With the help of financial support laboratories and medical centers can hire epidemiologists, laboratorians, and health information staff that can improve the overall system and make things quicker and better for the laboratories.

CDC’s Director of National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, Beth Bell stated that CDC funding will provide a better platform and it is important that they support these labs and medical centers through better monetary support. The funding will also improve the process and identification of local infectious diseases that can be detected early and prevented as well to ensure better public health. The funding will support various options like surveillance, detection and outbreak. CDC also mentioned that with more wide spread globalization it is important to detect infectious diseases rapidly and come up with preventive steps to curtail the problems that arise from such new infectious diseases that are not commonly known.
